Our Birch Bay Weekend!

This past weekend we went to Birch Bay with our small group from church. One of the families owns a beach house there and invited us all up for a great time! The weather was awesome, there was tons of good food, and the kids had a blast...could it get any better? Oh, and we even made s'mores on the beach!!! Paul and I decided to head up early on Saturday so that we could spend some time in Bellingham. For those of you who don't know, this is where it all started for us (we met at Western). So, we kicked things off by eating lunch at our favorite restaurant, Boundary Bay Brewery. Paul was obviously in vacation mode and ordered three samplers of his favorite beers...

After that, we drove by Western, our old houses, the place where we had our wedding reception... and basically bored the boys with stories from our youth! Then it was time to go meet our friends at the beach house! All of the kids (12 total) were super excited about playing in the sand and water, so we headed out for a long walk on the beach.

After a huge Spaghetti dinner, we roasted
marshmallows and made s'mores. Unfortunately I will never be satisfied with Hershey's chocolate s'mores again. My friend introduced me to making them with Reece's Peanut Butter Cups...YUM! The kids were all sticky messes and having tons of fun.

It was a great weekend with great friends!
